In this week’s episode, I talk about the importance of just pressing the record button. Now don't get me wrong, you first need to go through the process of developing a vision and plan for your podcast and/or videocast. The idea/development phase will provide you the best opportunity to sustain your creative endeavor. However, you can't stay stuck in the idea/development phase. At some point, you need to stop planning and start recording.

In this week’s episode, I explain how to properly brand your podcast and videocast. Your brand is how people identify you. In business, your brand will determine the type of customers you will attract. For instance, brands like Mercedes and Gucci are instantly associated with luxury. These brands are often automatically given the benefit of the doubt when is comes to quality. While both companies do make quality products, their brands have created instant credibility with consumers. Both companies logos are instantly recognizable by most people. This shows that a quality presentation is essential to developing your brand. Branding works in the same manner when it comes to podcasting and videocasting. Your content is king however, quality is definitely the beautiful queen.

In this week’s episode, I focus on why every business owner needs to be creating their own content whether that's a podcast and/or videocast. Gone are the days where you can just purchase a commercial on TV or the radio to create awareness of your business. The reality is that traditional forms of media such as TV and radio are dying which means their impact on influencing potential consumers is dying as well. More and more, people are seeking out original and organic content. Ironically, as people are becoming less dependent on personal connections in their personal lives, people are becoming more dependent on personal connects with the goods and services they want and need.

In this episode, I give a quick overview of how to distribute your podcast and videocast. Once you record and edit your podcast and videocast, you have to make it accessible.

In this week’s episode, I’m flying solo and addressing the importance of consistency. If content is king and quality is queen, consistency is a Joker. Let’s say someone stumbles upon your podcast and listens to all of your available podcast episodes. They’re hooked. They subscribe and are eagerly anticipating your next episode. They come back a week later and you have not posted a new episode. A week later they check again and there are still no new episodes. Do you think this person is going to keep coming back? I doubt it. This is why consistency is the key to creating a successful podcast.

This week’s episode is our third consultation with Munib. This consultation is all about developing a launch strategy for your podcast. Launching your podcast can be as simple as recording your first episode, editing it, uploading to your host and distributing your RSS feed platforms such as iTunes. However, developing a launch plan can put your podcast in a position to take off from day one. Always remember, it is all about the work you put in on the front end.

In this week’s episode, I sit down with my friend, Rufus Lott to discuss how starting a podcast could help him grow his consulting business. Rufus has been an education consultant for about a year. He partnered up with another friend, Kevin Curtis to create Texas Educators for Restorative Practices (TEXRP). I can attest from personal experience that Rufus and Kevin are equally qualified to train educators in Restorative Practices. With that said, Kevin has about a year and a half head start on Rufus as an independent educational consultant. As we all know with consulting, branding is everything. Our conversation focuses on how Rufus can use podcasting to build his brand, as well as Kevin’s, to help push their TEXRP to the next level.

This week’s episode is our second consultation with Munib Sheikh. The focus of this consultation is to help Munib define his avatar. An avatar is a profile of the ideal person who will resonate with your podcast. Defining your avatar will help you remain focused when creating content. Podcasting is a lot like fishing. There are plenty of fish in the ocean, lake or river and there are many different ways to catch them. With that said, if you go with fishing without a plan, you’re likely to walk away with an empty cooler. However, if you determine you are fishing specifically for bass and use bait that bass like, you are more likely to catch a bass or two on your trip. While you may not walk away with a cooler full of bass the first time you go fishing, you will be better equipped to catch bass in the future which will translate to more successful fishing trips. The same is true for podcasting - you may not get 10,000 listeners in the first month but if you focus on your target audience, it will translate to future success.

In this week’s episode, I sit down with my friend, Munib Sheikh, for a consultation. Munib has been playing around with some vlogging on Facebook Live, but would like to get serious about becoming a true content creator. The focus of this consultation is helping Munib to discover “Why” he wants to be a content creator. The reason we are focusing on his “Why” is because this is what will determine the vision for his content.

This week’s episode is the genesis of Podcast Caddy. My friend Wallace and I had wrapped up recording an episode for my YouTube Channel, Klassic Konversations, and he asked me for some guidance about how to get his podcast started. I decided to turn on the camera and capture the discussion. At the time, I didn’t realize that this conversation would be the inception for Podcast Caddy.
